How to hold a small demonstration in your area, calling on your Congressional Representatives and the Trump Administration to outlaw Mifepristone – the Abortion Pill.

Follow these proven strategies to get media coverage and put pressure on your “pro-life” Senator and U.S. House Member to protect innocent babies.

Greetings Fellow Pro-Lifer,  

The abortion pill – mifepristone – now kills over 600,000 innocent babies every year. Over 60% of all unborn babies who die are killed by this chemical. Beyond that, young mothers – often pressured into killing their babies – are left alone in a bathroom, where they deliver a dead baby in a toilet. Over 10% of these women end up in the emergency room. Many have died. The horrific stories that have emerged prove that this drug is a plague of evil to women and children.

Crippling the sale of the abortion pill.  

Senator Josh Hawley, (R-MO) has introduced a bill to BAN the sale of mifepristone. The title of his bill is the "Safeguarding Women from Chemical Abortion Act."  His bill – if made law – would not only end the sale of the abortion pill, but it would enable mothers who have been harmed or traumatized by this drug to sue the manufacturers for damages. If this bill becomes law, the lawsuits brought by traumatized and injured women will cripple the sale of this drug.

Pro-Life members of Congress don’t always read their mail.
But they DO read headlines in the News and Social Media.

Very few pro-life congressmen – in the Senate or the House – publicly support Senator Hawley’s bill. These Congressmen and Women say they are pro-life; they raise pro-life money, they make pro-life statements, they garner pro-life votes. But now, when babies' lives could be saved by banning this murderous chemical, they are silent and unseen.

It is our duty to give them the “inspiration” they need - public pressure – to defend babies and ban the abortion pill.

Follow these instructions – and you will be seen and heard.

Follow these simple instructions, and you will be seen and heard by your Pro-life Senator and/or U.S. House Member. If you live in a district or state that does NOT have a pro-life House Member or Senator who claims to be pro-life, hold a demonstration to speak on behalf of the unborn, and to rebuke your pro-abortion Congressmen as a child killer.

How to hold a demonstration at your congressmember’s office – AND get media coverage.

1. Find the location of the LOCAL office of your U.S. Senator or U.S. House Member. Go and scope it out, deciding on the best location to hold your demonstration.
2. Decide that you will hold a 40-minute demonstration, no matter what. Even if it is only 3 or 4 of you, commit to hold a demonstration/protest.
3. Pick your date and time.
4. Invite your friends, family, fellow pro-lifers, and churchgoers to join you.
5. Get poster board and wide sharpies from an office supply store, and make signs that say:
   "Senator [name], Ban the Abortion Pill!” “The Abortion Pill Kills Babies and Moms.” “Stop the Chemical Genocide!” and so forth. Be creative! Be bold!

Contact the Local Media to get Local Press Coverage

To get local press coverage, follow these instructions exactly as laid out.

1. Find the phone number of the “news desk” or “newsroom” of each of your local TV stations, and your local newspaper. (And save your work. You may need it again in the future.)
2. Call each of those newsrooms and ask for the email address where you send a press release. (We will show how to write a press release.)
3. On the DAY BEFORE your event, email your press release, then call them back to verify that they got the press release. Sometimes TV news crews are overwhelmed with spam emails. You MUST call them back to verify they got it. Then politely ask if they will send a crew to cover your event.
4. On the morning of your event – the earlier the better – call the news desk AGAIN and ask if they have assigned a crew to cover your event. You may have to send the email again at that me.
5. Hold your event, as scheduled. Make sure your signs are easily readable, and make sure you have a short, prepared statement on behalf of the babies, calling on your elected official to do their duty, and vote to ban the abortion pill. i.e., “We are calling on [name] to join Senator Hawley, to rid America of this murderous drug. Women deserve better than delivering a dead child alone in their bathrooms.” Etc.

A Sample Press Release – the One we Used in St. Louis – that brought out Two TV News Crews

Below is the press release we issued before our event in St. Louis MO at Senator Hawley’s Office. We decided on Friday that we would hold a demonstration on Monday. We followed the outline above and got two news stations to cover the event. You can use this as a template. This is a little long because of all the leaders we had present. You should keep your release from 200 to 400 words TOPS. (Below is the link to the news coverage from one of the stations that came.)

SAINT LOUIS, MO – On Monday morning, March 16th at 9:30am, national and local anti-abortion activists and leaders including Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU),  Reach Reproductive Health, Rescue Resurrection, Secular Pro-Life, and more will  gather outside Senator Josh Hawley’s Saint Louis office in support of his newly  introduced bill, “Safeguarding Women Against from Chemical Abortion Act.”  (Presidential Candidates Randall Terry and Terrisa Bukovinac will be leading the event.)

This bill, if passed, would ban the distribution of Mifepristone for abortion.

The timing of Hawley’s bill highlights the Trump Administration's negligence.

Senator Hawley introduced the legislation concurrently with the Trump administration’s efforts in court to protect the Biden era deregulations of the drug. These deregulations have culminated in a national abortion rate that is significantly higher than in the years prior to the overturn of Roe v Wade. Both Health and Human Services (HHS), Congress, and Trump, have the power to end it.  Pro-life leaders and organizations have begun to openly criticize the Trump Administration's failure to protect unborn human life.

Senator Hawley’s timing and action reflect pro-life sentiment from Trump’s base, key voters who will matter in the midterms. Support for this bill from Republican members of Congress with constituents who hold life-affirming values will be critical in bringing out the pro-life vote.

Now is when integrity and courage on behalf of babies and mothers is most needed. What could be more important than ending this chemical genocide?”

Then Flood Social Media

Take pictures and video of your event and FLOOD your social media accounts. Ask anyone who is present with you to do the same. 

If you have video - make sure you have good audio! The most important part of video footage is the SOUND – the AUDIO. If no one can hear your words, they will be frustrated and will not watch.

You are better off using still shots – images – than video with bad audio.
